Both the name and the colourfully clad storyteller depicted on the label gives you a solid sense of the character of this wine. It doesn't disappoint; launching with plump black cherry, black current, vanilla liqueur and toasted spice aromas. The palate follows suit, offering plush black and purple fruit, baking spice and licorice flavours, which culminate in a chocolaty finish. It's full-bodied, has impressive intensity and a powdery texture.
A wine for barbecuing, hearty winter dishes or hard cheeses.
